The 3 cylinder ecoboost is a modern, lightweight and compact engine, it is well designed and if properly serviced should last for years, there is no reason it should "give up the ghost" and "it isnt big enough to support the amount of power it uses" does not really mean anything - otherwise stock 1.0L ecoboost engines have been mapped to 150Hp, with no immediate problems Ford Focus RS EcoBoost The same 1.0 EcoBoost can be found in the larger Ford Focus (not in 140hp form), but there’s a wider range of higher-output EcoBoosts available, too. There’s a 1.5-litre EcoBoost with either 150hp or 182hp, while a 2.0-litre EcoBoost can be found in the 250hp Ford Focus ST.
The outside temperature was 5c, so hardly a warm day. The traffic moved a foot or two every 30 seconds and I was stuck in it for around half an hour. In this video, you can find how to fix auto stop & go function failure (Ford Focus 2011-2018 model). The other day, the function suddenly didn't work and neve The Focus MK2/MK2.5 MK3/MK3.5 Petrol versions do not have a changeable fuel filter. The cure is to have an uprated AGM battery fitted. I suspect the stock EFB battery fitted to the mk4 was always under spec for the demand.
I have the Focus 1.0l ecoboost 2013 and when purchased the salesman was very upfront saying for the stop/start function would only work so long as the engine was warm and the battery was in good condition, fully charged and little drain on it. I.e lights air- con heated windscreen etc.
