Golf R on the highway question. I am trying to decide between a Volkswagen golf R and a GTI autobahn package. Once or twice a week I have to do a 360mile round trip on the highway. I've been told that the golf R transmission gears are much shorter than the GTI which would translate to a higher RPM on the highway when cruising in sixth gear.
