So, I solved the Win 10 activation issue. There's a hotfix for Server 2012/2012R2 that I was missing - KB3058168. After installing that, I was able to install the Win10 key in AD activation, and Win10 activated successfully. I had to call microsoft to get ours to work . This was the fix also.
